Spring 2009
Preparation for the Civil PE Exam
Classes meet on Monday evenings, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
February 2 - April 13, 2009
Location: TBA
Fee: $775
Purpose
The purpose of the UNC Charlotte PE Review for Civil Engineering is to help prepare engineers for the Engineering Principles and Practice Examination. Classroom lectures are designed to supplement and guide home study. Each session emphasizes step-by-step solutions to problems similar to those on the exam. Therefore, terms, formulas and concepts are explained relative to solving exam problems.
Benefits of this Review Course
The PE Civil Review Course provides guidance and direction not available during independent study. You’ll have the opportunity to network with others in the program who may wish to form study groups. The course also helps set a pace that focuses your studying efforts to insure that all areas will be reviewed before the exam.
PE Civil Exam Review Topics:
UNC Charlotte’s PE Civil Exam Review will focus on the “Breadth” section (a.m. session) of the exam.
Topics:
- Soils and Soil Mechanics
- Structural Analysis
- Structural Mechanics and Materials
- Construction Analysis
- Transportation Engineering
- Fluids / Hydraulics
- Sanitary Engineering
Please note that most, but not all, exam topics will be reviewed during regularly-scheduled class time. Additional self-study will be necessary to fully prepare for the exam.
