Preparing for the NEW SAT format
Registration Fee: $245 per program
Classes held on the UNC Charlotte Main Campus or the Ben Craig Center
Enrollment limited to 25 students per program
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is pleased to offer The SAT Preparation Series. Each 15-hour program covers the latest test-taking strategies and proven techniques for increasing SAT scores. The UNC Charlotte program will allow students to learn from the instructor, from other students, and, most importantly, from their own actions by taking sample tests throughout the program. Students will practice sample questions, with special attention given to questions requiring critical thinking and reasoning. It is the goal of UNC Charlotte’s SAT Preparation Series to build SAT test-taking confidence and to assist students in reaching their full potential through remedial learning, careful skill analysis, and exposure to SAT practice tests. An additional session has been added to cover the new "Essay" section of the SAT.
Low Cost
UNC Charlotte’s registration fee is significantly lower than that of the majority, if not all, similar SAT preparation programs within the Charlotte region. As part of the registration fee, participants will receive program materials that include a textbook/study guide for the new SAT.
Comprehensive
Instructors will cover the math, verbal, and essay sections of the SAT and will use practice tests to support the learning experience. Participants will receive practical experience solving math and verbal problems. All program materials and practice tests come from resources that provide up-to-date information on the new SAT.
Test-Taking Strategies for the New SAT
Proper test-taking preparation and techniques can greatly assist in minimizing the dangerous tensions that can seriously lower test scores for many students. Instructors will cover the test-taking preparation and techniques needed to build SAT test-taking confidence.
Limited Class Size
Each program within The SAT Preparation Series will be limited to no more than 25 participants.
The group of instructors for The SAT Preparation Series consists of experienced professionals with many years of experience as classroom teachers and educational administrators. The entire team of instructors for this program has worked together to develop program goals and instructional strategies to be implemented in the effort to provide the most effective SAT Preparation Series possible for program participants.
The SAT Preparation Series is intended for individuals 15 years of age or older who have the need and desire to learn test-taking skills and techniques essential to meeting their maximum SAT test-taking potential.
